2. Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to BuildARifle.com and all subdomains, all features and services offered through the Site, and all users accessing the Site from the United States. It does not apply to third-party websites or retailers linked from our Site.
3. Age Restriction
BuildARifle.com is intended solely for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, we will delete it immediately.
4. Information We Collect
4a. Information You Provide Voluntarily
- Build name: When you save a rifle configuration, you may provide a name. Do not include personal information in build names.
- Email address: If you create an optional account, you provide an email address used solely for authentication via magic link. We do not use your email for marketing.
- Owned parts selections: Your selections indicating which components you already own are stored with your build.
4b. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, our infrastructure providers may automatically collect IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, date and time of access, and device type. This data is used solely for security monitoring and performance improvement.
4c. Cookies and Local Storage
We use a minimal set of browser storage mechanisms including build ownership tokens, saved build IDs, and an age verification cookie. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or fingerprinting technologies.
4d. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your name, phone number, physical address, payment information, social security number, precise geolocation, or biometric data.

We do not sell your personal information, share individually identifiable build data with advertisers, or use your email for marketing communications.
6. Affiliate Links and Third-Party Retailers
When you click a Buy button, you leave BuildARifle.com and the third-party retailer's privacy policy governs your interaction. We do not share your build data, IP address, or any other information with affiliate retailers. The affiliate link may contain a tracking parameter identifying BuildARifle.com as the referring source.
7. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it. We do not trade it.
We use third-party infrastructure providers for web hosting, database hosting, content delivery, and security services. These providers process data solely to deliver the Site on our behalf and are contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.

9. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, Row Level Security on our database, service role isolation, cryptographically random build ownership tokens, and multi-factor authentication for admin access.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Because we do not collect personal information tied to your identity for accountless builds, we cannot look up your data by name. Account holders may request deletion of their account and associated data at any time. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA including the right to know, delete, and opt out of sale (we do not sell data).
11. Firearms Data and Law Enforcement
Build data is stored in a secure database with no direct public API access. We do not proactively share individual build data with any government agency or law enforcement without a valid legal process. We will comply fully with all valid legal requests as required by applicable law. Aggregated and anonymized data may be used for marketing and business purposes and does not identify individual users.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date and post a notice on the Site for material changes.
