KS-1 Upper
The KS-1 upper offers premium KAC engineering, a durable 13.7-inch barrel, and strong collector and military-reference appeal. Its approximately $2,088 manufacturer price is well above many proven duty-grade uppers, so the value is moderate unless the buyer specifically wants the KS-1 configuration, KAC components, and limited-market desirability.
Overview
The Knight’s Armament SR-15 KS-1 Upper Receiver Kit brings the 13.7-inch KS-1 configuration to a compatible AR-15 lower. Its cold-hammer-forged, chrome-lined 5.56 NATO barrel uses a 1:7 twist and dimpled heavy profile for durability under demanding firing schedules. The compact barrel length, premium KAC construction, and KS-series lineage make it an appealing foundation for a modern military-style carbine, although final legal configuration depends on the installed muzzle device and lower receiver.
Best for a premium KS-1-inspired 5.56 build, collectors seeking the current KAC military-pattern configuration, or a hard-use carbine where durability and compact handling matter more than cost.
