The approximately $1,525 price includes premium components that would be costly to assemble separately, including the MK16 rail, enhanced carrier group, charging handle, CHF barrel, and pinned SureFire flash hider. Less expensive complete uppers can deliver similar practical accuracy, but the URG-I offers strong value for buyers specifically seeking this proven configuration and component set.
Overview
The Geissele URG-I 14.5 is a complete 5.56 upper designed around the USASOC Upper Receiver Group Improved configuration. A cold-hammer-forged, chrome-lined 14.5-inch barrel and mid-length gas system sit beneath the rigid 13.5-inch MK16 M-LOK rail. Geissele completes the package with its Reliability Enhanced bolt carrier group, Airborne Charging Handle, and a pinned-and-welded SureFire four-prong flash hider that brings the barrel assembly to the federal minimum rifle length without an SBR registration when left intact.
Best for a high-quality USASOC-inspired carbine, a Block II successor-style build, or a hard-use 5.56 rifle that benefits from a complete matched upper and a factory pinned SureFire suppressor mount.
